The main profit of the investor is margin between the originally invested capital (in other words price for which he bought you enterprise and the price for which he is going to sell it in the known period, that is, investment term). This means that you have to have a clear plan of actions. The investor is will give you money and support, using his international experience and contacts. But it will be only support. His main participation will be money. You will be the one responsible for the development of the enterprise and profit. 

Usually the term of one investment is from 3 to 7 years. But you should not be afraid of this moment. This does not mean that after the end of this term you will have to return the received money or something bad will happen. Just the particular investor would want to "escape" or sell his capital shares, because these are the rules of activity of investment funds.
